Janice Schwarze retired in June 2021 after 34 years in education. She served as an administrator for 14 years in District 99 - the last 5 years as principal of Downers Grove North High School. Janice also taught English for 20 years at Glenbard East High School and served as a department chair and Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. She is passionate about social-emotional learning, equity, instructional and leadership coaching, and differentiated instruction, especially in making connections among these topics. Janice has presented at many conferences including the National Council of Teachers of English and The Conference of English Leadership and currently provides professional learning opportunities to several school districts. As well, she is a Professional Learning Associate for the Illinois Principals Association.
