Dr. Timothy Dohrer is a Research Associate and Director of P20 Initiatives at Northern Illinois University with 33 years of experience in schools. Previously, he served as Director of the Master of Science in Education program at Northwestern University and Principal at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. He serves on several boards and regularly consults with schools in Illinois and beyond. Dr. Dohrer’s major areas of research include social & emotional learning, school culture & climate, curriculum & instruction, teacher education, and school leadership. Dr. Dohrer has B.A.’s in English and Journalism from Indiana University, an M.A. in English from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Pennsylvania State University.
